Biography: Dave Shreiner
Dave Shreiner has been an active contributor to open standards for almost two decades, bringing him to his current role as a Systems Architect at ARM, Inc., within the Media Processing Division. He began his career at Silicon Graphics Computer Systems, where arguably the first open standard – the OpenGL computer graphics standard – was developed and where Dave authored the first commercial training course on the subject and also lead OpenGL system software teams. He has continued to contribute to the evolution and adoption of OpenGL (and that of its related cousin OpenGL ES) as a co-author of the “OpenGL Programming Guide” and the “OpenGL ES 2.0 Programming Guide”, and by representing ARM in the OpenGL Working Group of Khronos. Additionally, Dave has given talks worldwide on OpenGL programming, including conducting numerous courses at SIGGRAPH.
Dave has a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Delaware and was an Adjunct Professor of Computer Engineering at Santa Clara University.
